Currently on maternity leave
I'm Lisa, 28 years old and currently working a part time job in Real Estate. I live with my partner and my border collie Luna in Watsonia. I got my puppy in March 2020 when Australia was hit by the Covid Pandemic and all dog training and puppy schools closed. I took it upon myself to complete an online course to upskill myself, I am currently completing another course to continue to better understand how dog's learn. I will continue to learn about dog's and their behaviour to ensure I can provide the best service possible.
During the pandemic I experienced some change in my job and had the opportunity to spend a lot of one on one time with Luna and work on her training. I didn't give her quite enough exposure to the outside world during her first socialisation period, this lead to Luna being reactive to cars and dogs, with lots of dedication and time we worked through those issues and no longer try to lunge into traffic. As you can imagine it was a scary experience and I just wanted to help Luna through it and provide her with a safe environment. That is one of the foundations of your dog's learning, providing them with a safe environment will help your dog have an easier time listening and understanding what you are asking them to do. Whilst spending a lot of time training and walking Luna, I realised that I love it and how hard it can be to provide your dog with enough physical and mental stimulation when you are working full time and have even just one other commitment.
I decided the best way to try and assist others, would be to start my own dog walking business. I have a few regular clients at the moment and they range from small to big dogs, puppies to older dogs, I will tailor the walks to best suit yours and your dog's needs. I will continue to provide the best service to my clients and grow the business. If you have any questions for me, please get in contact via the details below.
With a certificate in Dog Care and Dog Psychology & Training, I am an enthusiastic dog walker, who's excited to meet your dogs and help them get some exercise along with some enrichment. The aim is to give dogs an outlet for their energy but also to mentally stimulate them, our walks will be full of smells, good manners and fun.
When you live a busy life, it is hard to consistently provide the attention and care that your dog needs. I am here to assist and ensure you don't have a bored dog getting into mischief at home. I work 4 days a week so I have some flexibility during the week to accommodate you and your pooch.
Luna is well trained to walk loosely on the lead, she has good recall and can perform quite a few tricks. We've built a strong relationship and still more learning ahead for both of us.
Luna was a sweet puppy, but she did nip and developed reactivity to cars and dogs. Puppies are cute but they are a lot of work, if you would like to know more about Luna's story, please get in contact.
